Structure Fire - 42 Bennett Rd. - Fairview Fire District - 4/14/14

Fairview firefighters along with City of Poughkeepsie and Roosevelt, were dispatched for a reported structure fire at #42 Bennett Rd shortly after 3:00 AM on April 14th. DC911 advised initial responding units that they had a working fire as they were able to see the fire from their location. First arriving units encountered a fully involved~ 20 x 40 raised ranch whose roof collapsed as firefighters arrived. Initially, the occupants of the residence were unaccounted for and were believed to be still in the structure. Fortunately, that was later determined to not be the case as the owners were apparently away when the fire broke out. The residence was a total loss and the cause of the fire was investigated by the Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response Fire Investigation Division and Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. Additional mutual aid was received from the Pleasant Valley, Hyde Park, Arlington, Highland, LaGrange and West Clinton fire departments.
